The Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated in conjunction with the Dundee Public Library continues to have their year-round Book Sale at the Library. On offer you will be able to find a wide variety of books , Books on CD, magazines , DVD’s , paperbacks and hardback books for sale. Options are that you can fill a bag for $1.00 with any variety of books on sale or you can simply purchase at the prices shown for individual items as seen below.

Large Paperbacks 0.50 cents each
Small Paperbacks 0 .50 cents each
Magazines 0.10 each

NB: All funds raised from the Book Sale goes towards the Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated (FOL)Summer Reading Program and many of the other associated programs presided over by FOL throughout the calendar year. Florida Park Ranger Service and Polk County Sheriffs Department were the guests of Friends of The Library Dundee Florida

 

 

Friends of  The  Library  Florida Incorporated in conjunction with the  Dundee  Public Library held another  event as  part of their   Summer  Reading  Program  for 2019.   This event was held at the Dundee Community Center located at 605 Lake Marie Boulevard in Dundee, Florida.  The morning’s  event  will be  the  penultimate  program  for the  children  within  our   community , with the   final  programmed  calendared  meeting  to  take   place  on the 31^st  July at  10:00  am  at  the  same venue.

On hand for   Wednesday’s event  as  volunteers  with  Friends of The  Library, were  Mary-Ann Podbielski,  Jim Gilmore  and  Alan Parkins.    For   this  morning’s  event  we had   invited   guests   from the  Florida Park  Ranger  Service, two Fire Fighters  with the  Ranger   Service, as  well  as  a  Resource  Officer  and  a  Sheriff’s Deputy  from the  Polk  County Sheriff’s  Department, where  they  discussed with the  children in attendance  ,  many  of  the  various  aspects of their work.   The  children  who  were   in attendance,  were  attentive during  what was a very  interesting  interaction  of  question and  answers  with  the  guests.  Scenes from this morning’s event can be seen within this post.

 

With our final scheduled  event  taking place   next Wednesday , we  would  like to advise that it  is  best to register  in advance  in order to  avoid  any disappointment  for a  child  wishing to attend.  Our  final event next  Wednesday,  will  be  an  Ice  Cream  Social   which takes   place  once  again at the  Dundee  Community  Center   beginning at  10:00 am.

Big Idea Balloons Slayed Us All On The Day ….

 

Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated hosted another Summer Reading Program event at the Dundee Community Center in conjunction with the Dundee Public Library. On hand were our usual volunteers, Mary-Ann Podbielski, Jim Gilmore and Alan Parkins. This event was free of charge for all of the children in attendance and as usual , it was a fun time for all who attended. The morning was fun-packed, filled with entertainment provided by Keith Tusing of Big Idea Balloons. Keith is well-known throughout the Central Florida area as a children’s entertainer , bringing along with him his feats of magic and comedic entertainment for the family. Our next event as part of our Summer Reading Schedule will once again take place on a Wednesday, 24th July at the Dundee Community Center. As usual the presentation will begin at 10:00 am and we ask that parents or guardians wishing to have their children attend , they should sign up in advance . This can be done by one of two ways , either in person at the Dundee Public Library or by phone at the number listed below. You merely have to supply a library staff member of the details sought (name and age of the child attending along with a contact phone number).

Another Wednesday and another event from our Summer Reading Program Schedule took place at the Dundee Community Center , Dundee, Florida. Friends of The Library Dundee Florida were the hosts of this event. Volunteers , Rukhsana Harper , Mary Ann Podbielski , Jim Gilmore and Alan Parkins were there in attendance in their all too familiar roles , as well as being Board Directors of the charity (FOL) .

For many of the children in attendance who were there alongside a parent or a caregiver this was a fun-filled morning, with their being able to participate in some arts and crafts. As always , our program is open to the children within our community while also being free of charge. Our next scheduled event will take place on Wednesday , the 17th July at the Dundee Community Center beginning at 10:00 am with a special guest , magician and performer Keith Tusing of Big Idea Balloons . Kids wishing to attend this program will need to register in advance and this can be done either by phone or in person , leaving the necessary information required with a staff member of the Dundee Public Library .

2019 Summer Reading Program .. Patriotic Craft Day Presented by Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated …

The second event within our Summer Reading Program schedule took place today , Wednesday the Dundee Community Center, in Dundee, Florida. Hosted by Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated in conjunction with the Dundee Public Library ; the theme of the day for the children in attendance was that of Patriotic Craft Day in the lead-up to the 4th July , the nation’s independence. Friends of The Library Board Members, Rukhsana Harper , Mary Ann Podbielski , Jim Gilmore and Alan Parkins were in attendance in their roles as volunteers and of course in their official roles as representatives of the charity .

Our continued efforts, are that of bringing about an environment for the children within our community , where they can make friends, have a great time as well being in a position to show their creativity through arts and crafts with each of our scheduled events throughout our Summer Reading Program Schedule. Held each week on a Wednesday morning beginning at 10:00 am the Dundee Community Center , Friends of The Library Dundee continues its commitment to the children of the community to shape their lives for the better , that will hopefully make them productive citizens of the future.

There will not be a scheduled event on for next Wednesday, 3rd July , but Friends of The Library will return to the Dundee Community Center on the 10th July , at 10:00 am with another event as part of the Summer Reading Program. The theme of that will be ‘Color Your World Craft Day’ and parents or caregivers wishing their child to attend , must register that person in advance . This can be done in person here at the Dundee Public Library or by phone at the number listed below.

Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated , are still conducting their year-long Book Sale at the Dundee Public Library, where members of the public can find a wide array of books (Paperbacks and Hardbacks) , CD’s , Audio Books , DVD’s and all for sale at astonishing prices . As a matter of fact , you can fill a bag for $1.00 and that’s for as many books as you can carry, hardback or paperback. CD’s , DVD’s and Audio Books are marked as priced. So why not come in and take a look around here at the Dundee Public Library. A staff member or a volunteer will be happy to assist you .

Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated kicked of their Summer Reading Program for 2019 in conjunction with the Dundee Public Library . The venue for the event was the Dundee Community Center, Dundee, Florida , located at 603 Lake Marie Boulevard. On hand among the Friends of The Library were their volunteers , Mary Ann Podbielski (Vice President), Jim Gilmore and Alan Parkins.

Our Summer Reading Program which will be held over a period of eight weeks culminating with our final event on 31st July,2019 , is a weekly event open to all of the children within the community and is free of charge. Registration is required for each child wishing to attend and this can be done in person at the Dundee Public Library or calling the library at the number listed below. Today’s event featured a Craft Day, in which the children in attendance would be provided with the utensils to create something for their father in the lead-up to Father’s Day which takes places this upcoming Sunday, 16th June .

Scenes from today’s event can be seen in the montage from this post. Our next scheduled activity will be taking place on the 19th June at 10:00 am at the Dundee Community Center. If you would like for your child to attend , then please do pre-register them in advance as previously suggested.

2019 Summer Reading Program Our First Scheduled Event ….

Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated in conjunction with the Dundee Public Library , will open up their 2019 Summer Reading Program Schedule as of 12th June and this will run through until the 31st July, 2019 with our final event of that schedule . The venue for each of the scheduled events will be the Dundee Community Center located at 605 Lake Marie Boulevard , Dundee, FL 33838, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm unless otherwise stated . All of the events, are free of charge for the children wishing to attend , but they will have to be pre-registered for each event, in order that we can provide the necessary spacing and provisions for the various arts and crafts and refreshments on the day.

For each successive Wednesday , starting on the 12th June , there will be an event held at the Dundee Community to coincide with our Summer Reading Program. For more information concerning the scheduled events , you can call the Dundee Public Library at the number listed below or simply visit the Facebook page of either the Dundee Public Library Florida or Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated.

Our first event taking place will be on Wednesday , 12th June , as a precursor to Fathers’ Day with an Arts & Crafts Celebration.

The Dundee Public Library Florida in conjunction with Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated will be blasting off with their Summer Reading Program Schedule , beginning every Wednesday on a weekly bases starting on June 12th , 2019 and ending 31st July , 2019.

Please note , there won’t be a scheduled event for 3rd July as we commemorate Independence Day , with the Dundee Public Library being closed on the day. The venue for all of the Summer Reading Program activities will be the Dundee Community Center located at 603 Lake Marie Boulevard , Dundee , FL 33838 . Each program event will begin at 10:00 am unless otherwise stated.

Pre-registration is required for all children wishing to attend and we advise that parents or respective caregivers register the children wishing to attendance in advance in order to avoid disappointment. This can be done in person at the Dundee Public Library or by phone at the number listed below .
